When Fear is Eliminated pt. 2

A while ago I wrote a blog post about the good that can make itself visible when we eliminate our irrational fears. (If you haven't read that yet, it might help you understand this post). Anyway, I recently had another experience that falls along the same message I wrote about previously. Just yesterday, I attended a sports practice. Yes, something normal for high school kids to do right? Well, it was my first one in a while and I was really out of shape. So what happened.. nerves and irrational fears of messing up or not being good enough. I think adults and children alike experience these nerves. Lets take for example an adult before a job interview, nerves. As humans we have this weird ability to shut ourselves down before even giving ourselves a chance. We let the fear of the unknown scare us from tackling the struggles of everyday life that might otherwise improve us. A while ago, I was listening to a motivational speaker speak about our comfort zones. How as humans we build up this idea of what we consider we are capable. So with this new sports practice, I let the nerves second guess myself from going. I was afraid that everyone would be so good and that I wouldn't fit the standard. Just as an adult would fear they didn't need someone like him or her on the job. These fears of the unknown and of being afraid to leave whats familiar to us will forever keep us from accomplishing our biggest goals and dreams. We need to have more faith in ourselves and more faith in god and his plans for his children. Not religious, no worries, I think some of you might still believe that theres some kind of journey for us all. If not, then you might think that we create our own journeys. Whatever your beliefs, it is up to us to control our irrational fears and rise up to the challenges that might change us for the better. My practice ended up going well, I kept up with the pace of the hard workout (barley lol.. no I was fine, just challenged, which is good), and felt proud of myself and very accomplished. So don't let fear hold you back. And yes, a little fear or nerves are ok, they are often times an indicator that we are doing something meaningful to us. However, we mustn't let our small fears stop us from pursuing and finding the greatest capacity of being within us all. So it was weird, I felt a sprinkle of gods love and mercy for me if you will, after that practice. I felt watched, but not in a creepy way (haha). I felt like maybe there is a greatere plan in store for us all, and that we just need to overcome our comfort zones to get there.
