Thinking

Here are some thoughts I found while looking through an old notebook.. some that I thought I'd share with you that maybe others can relate to. I begin my rant...

If as humans we have multiple interests, how do we narrow them down? How do you know which ones to stick with and which to leave behind? I've been listening to a lot of motivational speakers lately say.. "figure out what you want, and get it", why is it that this seems so simple yet is difficult. We may know our interests but can't possibly view them together, or in one profession. It seems like a lot of people know exactly why there here, what they want out of their life, what they want to be already. But what is true for the others that remain, the confused who don't know what strengths they have that they should focus on? How is it that one just wakes up one day and knows what they want, or where they can see themselves, or the spark that lies within them? How can we get closer to finding and viewing ourselves? How do we know which things are our callings when we may have varying interests....

Answering this journal entry that I found in my notebook from last year: I think it might be through doing and experiencing many different things that people narrow down their interests. I think we have to experience to know what it is we enjoy and what we dislike. I think that once we then find our interests we must find where passion interferes with them. The interests we truly are curious about, where a few interests are assimilated I think is where people are happiest. Where their interests meet curiosity and become passion, maybe it is then that humans will find fulfillment.

Just some food for thought....
